This beloved comedy won the 1936 Pulitzer Prize for Kaufman and Hart. It is a visit with one of the most irrepressible families ever created for the stage-the Sycamores of Manhattan. Headed by Grandpa Vanderhof, who has spent most of his life avoiding the IRS, this extended family is a completely uninhibited clan whose members simultaneously manufacture fireworks in the cellar, distribute left-wing propaganda in homemade candy, take ballet lessons in the living room, and operate printing presses and xylophones-often simultaneously. As Grandpa says, "Why not do what you want to do? After all…you can't take it with you!"

Lakewood Sentinel Article on "South Pacific"  [Posted 8/12/05]
Wes Munsil is a software consultant by day, but at night he can become a serious and perfectionist theater director.
Holed up in a Denver church basement, he holds a legal pad full of notes about every line and expression performed by the 43 amateur actors in the Ovation Players production of "South Pacific."

I'd love to see everyone at The Heidi Chronicles at Miners Alley! We have two more weekends (the run is through August 21). Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 and Sunday shows are at 6:00pm. Backstage Colorado gave the show an "A" and of course it would be a great excuse to see everyone again. Call the reservation line at 303-935-3044. http://www.minersalley.com/
Thanks for a great time on South Pacific! Take care, Rob Kramer

Why You Should Support Referendums C & D
Arts for Colorado
  [Posted 8/5/05]
If C & D pass, arts education and community organizations will have the first chance in four years of seeing state support for the arts grow. Budget pressures will be relieved, and our state leaders will have room to address the enormous demands Colorado’s growth have put on programs like transportation, education and health care.
WE ARE ASKING YOU TO ACT NOW! Arts for Colorado is sponsoring an open informational regarding the implications of Referendums C & D.
* When: August 15, 2005
* When: 5:00 PM
* Where: Ricketson Theatre in the Denver Performing Arts Complex.
* What: Full explanation of the proposed temporary deferment of the TABOR rebates and the actions you and your organization can take to help pass C&D.
Few times in recent Colorado history has the cultural community faced such a clear-cut choice. Please come to this informational meeting to support arts and culture in our communities.
